Technology Segments
basically come in three different grit designs:
- Standard segment design
- Sandwich segment design
- Multi-layer segment design
Standard Segment Design
The edges wear faster than the centre of the segment. The segment has to be replaced before the cutting surface can wear off entirely. If the segment remains in use, productivity will decrease.
Sandwich Segment Design
Diamond concentration in the centre section is lower than along the edges. The edges and centre of the segment wear more evenly. The segment can remain in use until the cutting surface has worn off almost entirely. Productivity remains stable.
Multi-layer Segment Design
Diamond concentration in the centre section and along the edges is higher than in between these sections. The edges and centre of the segment wear even more evenly. The segment can remain in use until the cutting surface has worn off almost entirely. Productivity remains stable.
